Center-Based Programs

Mt. Evans BOCES offers center-based programs for students who need greater structure and support in order to be successful in a public school setting.

“Learning Lab” Program – This program is offered at Deer Creek Elementary in Platte Canyon School District and serves students in grades K-5 with intellectual disabilities, multiple disabilities, or who are on the Autism Spectrum and who need specialized programming and academic instruction.  Lead Teacher: Maurita Newton.  Principal:  Vernita Vallez.  Contact information (Deer Creek) 303-838-7666 x 1300.  For more information visit “Learning Lab”  Program Description

Significant Support Needs” (SSN) Programs – This program is offered in the Platte Canyon School District for students in grades 6-12 with intellectual disabilities, multiple disabilities, or who are on the Autism Spectrum who need specialized programming and academic instruction.  Lead Teacher: Rachel Bruening.  Principal:  Mike Schmidt.  Contact information (Platte Canyon High School): 303-838-7666 x 1600.
